    The SJSU College of Engineering is proud to share the news with its students, faculty, staff, and friends that alumnus Charles W. Davidson has generously given a $15 million gift to the College, the largest private, individual donation in the history of SJSU and the CSU system.

    On Saturday, December 16, 2006, the College of Engineering held its Fall Commencement at the San José Civic Auditorium. Approximately 300 students participated in the graduation ceremonies and 2,000 guests attended. The Deans and department chairs were on hand to congratulate the students.

    Associate Dean Kevin Corker has been awarded by NASA a $1.7 million grant to work on "Computational Models of Human Workload: Definition, Refinement, Integration, and Validation in Fast-Time National Airspace Simulations."

    On Thursday, November 17, the College of Engineering hosted its 2006 Scholarship Recognition Luncheon. Some of the College’s most talented and brightest engineering students received scholarships sponsored by many generous individuals, alumni, and corporate scholarship donors. In total, fifty-nine students were the recipients of 19 scholarships.

    The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded $1,360,000 to three professors in the College of Engineering at SJSU: Dr. Kurt McMullin, Civil and Environmental Engineering; Dr. Winncy Du, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; and Dr. Thuy Le, Electrical Engineering. These three faculty are part of a research team that also includes Dr. Bozidar Stojadinovic from UC Berkeley and engineering consultant, Kathleen Rai, Principal of SensiBuild.
